BlackBerry has announced the release of BlackBerry Optics v2.5.1100, which runs on devices with Intel processors and helps detect malware for crypto theft and illegal mining.

To detect advanced malicious programs, BlackBerry Optics Context Analysis Engine (CAE) uses Intel’s unique CPU telemetry from Intel Threat Detection Technology (Intel TDT) to provide protection for SMBs against cryptojacking attempts.

According to Josh LEMOS, vice president of research and intelligence at BlackBerry, given the costs associated with cryptojacking and ransomware requirements, the new offer of rapid threat detection and response is relevant and useful and also helps make cryptojacking practice a thing of the past. Businesses will be able to prevent an attack and use their devices confidently with the intended purposes.
